Hiya

I am going to apply for my citizenship soon and I am using a friend as my professional referee. She works as an Insurance agent. She is British since birth and has a British Passport but it has expired.

Will this be an issue when using her as my referee?

Should not be an issue.

Insurance agent is in the list of acceptable professional persons. The professional referee doesn't need to be British or to hold a valid passport. The second referee does.
