Hi Guys

I have recently got my ILR and wanted to apply for my daughter's MN1.
I was going through the application form where it says to get the application\photograph attested by 2 people.
One who is a British national for 3 yrs and the 2nd from a person who has known the applicant in a professional way (eg GP or health visitor)
I have just called the GP Surgery and they are saying that it is their policy not to attest the form you need to ring the Health visitor's office. I called the Health Vistor's office and they are pointing me to go to GP as they dont attest that either.
I have asked them to please can you give me this in writing so i can forward that to the home office and they are reluctant to do that aswell

Is there anyone else who can attest it

Please advise

You are not the first one to face this issue and we all have gone through this. How old is your Daughter? If your daughter is going to Nursery or day care then someone from there can sign to form too.. it should be someone who knows your daughter in professional capacity i.e. not related to her on personal basis. But it is very tough to find out someone like that specially when the child is very young. My daughter goes to local library for rhyme time and we got the lady taking rhyme time to be her referee with no problems.

From where you got this 3 yrs condition? i do not think there is any criteria like this. It just has to be a British National.

Yes you are right. i have just gone through the guidance notes, the refree should just be a British national.

My daughter is 10 months now. and the only people who are related profesionally is GP or health visitor and they both saying its not their policy to attest. i dont know what to do now

The HO is less strict on referees for MN1 application under 1(3) for young children. Just use a second British friend as referee instead of the professional one and add a note explaining why. You should be OK (people got approvals even with no referees).

i have just spoken the head of health visitors team. she is happy to issue me a letter on the NHS letter head saying that they are instructed not to attest the form or photographs so although they know my daughter but thwy will not attest her photograph.
do you guys think i should attach this letter with the application?

If you can, attach the letter but it is not crucial for the application to succeed. The application will not get rejected because of the referees as she is applying under section 1(3) (entitlement for BC).

My son was born in Dec11 and I got ILR in Jan12

No professional worker is signing the MN1 form. Hence, please let me know if you are able to get the approval. If yes then please let me know what you wrote in the letter...I will copy paste the letter format.

Any other advice would be very helpful.

Looking forward for your reply.
