A friend, who is a n immigration soclicitor, told me that for a 6-year old child there is not a need to get references. The reason is that there is no need to fill in section 4 , Good Character Requirement and because of that no references needed. I have been looking through the guidance and haven'd come across with this information. Anyone knows anything?

He said the references needed only for those on whom the checks are made and they are not done under 10s - there is not need.

It doesn't make sense to me and he is a solicitor ))

Referees are used for identity purposes and not as character witnesses. That is why they declare that they know you and that your photo is a true likeness. They don't declare that you have good character.
