Our baby is due this week and we will be getting our ILR in mid April. My question is:
Since I have 42 days to register the baby's birth and we will be getting our ILR within these 42 days, If we register the birth after we get the ILR, can we skip the MN1 and directly apply for baby's passport?

the relevent date is the date the child is born, not the date the child's birth is registered. If the child is born in the UK after you have been granted ILR, the child will automatically be British. If the child is born before you are granted ILR, the child will not be British and will need to register under section 1(3)

Thank you for the quick response Greenie. I have one more:
We are going for a premium appointment for our ILR in mid April. Can we submit the MN1 in the same PEO as soon as our ILR application is approved using the approval letter as evidence? Or do we need to wait 7-10 days for the biometric card to arrive?

you can't submit an application for citizenship at the PEO. Apply by post after you have your biometric card.
