I applied 16 of April
And stuck with the reuse app for long time months and months decided opt out
Opt out 4 of August

Received email invitation yesterday booked appointment for the next week

If you opt out on or up to 17:00 (5 pm) on 10 August 2020, UKVCAS will send you an email during week commencing 10 August 2020 inviting you to book an appointment at a UKVCAS service point.Do you think we are going to receives email later today to invite us to book appointment.

I only just checked my emails this morning and got the appointment email last night. The closest appointment in London was 28 Aug but managed to get an appointment in Croydon 18Aug. The relief. Starting to see the finishing line now.

It seems that people who sent opt out email before 7th Aug (5 pm) all received the invites and people who opted out after this date/time are waiting, they may receive invites later today.

There was no time mentioned in email for 7th Aug deadline but I assume they have processed invites upto 5pm on 7th Aug. I opted out on 7th Aug(10 pm) and I didn't get an invitation, however, some other people confirmed they received invitation and they opt out on 7th Aug.

I opted out on 7th Aug at 1.21 PM with subject line "OPT OUT xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx". Did anyone who opted out in similar fashion receive email to book appointment already? Guess I'm trying to find out if this format of subject line is in any way dictating the reason for some getting invitations while others are not. Thanks!

Just chiming in here. I have an original application and a variation pending. Both triggered biometric reuse emails, one with August 7th deadline, and one with August 10th. I sent two separate opt out emails on August 4th. Received invitation with the first application's UAN yesterday, nothing yet for the variation. This just tells me that for applications with August 10th deadline the timing of the opt out email doesn't matter -- they will be processed separately (hopefully soon).

Hmm, I had missing "/XX" the last two digits "/00" from my UAN that I used in subject line. Also didn't include UAN in email body.

This may be the reason that they see it as invalid UAN and didn't send email invitation. Bad luck.

If you check your document checklist the UAN is 16 digits and so /XX is not part of it. That should not be a reason. I did the same as you.

I have used the format with "/XX" in the end I.e. full UAN after OPT OUT in the subject. But not mentioned UAN again in the email body. Just my name, my application route, date of application and I want to opt out of the app and require biometric appointment.

If you check your document checklist the UAN is 16 digits and so /XX is not part of it. That should not be a reason. I did the same as you.

Yes, you are right, the 16 digit is the UAN and /00 may refer something else and not required when it's 00. But staff at UKVCAS may be trying to search UAN from database where it is stored in format XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX/XX in orginal format.

For example:
- In database the UAN may be stored as XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX/XX
- We sent opt out email with UAN in format XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX exlcuding the last two digits which is normal 00
- Staff at UKVCAS may have tried to search the UAN we provided XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX which is actually stored in database as format XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX/XX and the match may have failed.

If the above has happen then it may be the reason we didn't get invitations as staff who were doing this manually may not had enough knowledge that both UAN are same.

Speculation only and I am hoping that we will get invitation soon.
