How to Calculate Absence ??

Hi There,

I am bit confused how to calculate absence..

My Tier 1 General Started from 17th June 2009 to 17th June 2014

As i can apply 28 days before my visa expire so i can be able to apply on 21st May.

So my question is should i calculate my absence like below:

Year 1 17 June 2009 to 17 June 2010
Year 2 18 June 2010 to 17 June 2011
Year 3 18 June 2011 to 17 June 2012
Year 4 18 June 2012 to 17 June 2013
Year 5 18 June 2013 to 17 June 2014

Or from the date of application as per below:

Year 1 21 May 2014 to 22 May 2013
Year 2 21 May 2013 to 22 May 2012
Year 3 21 May 2012 to 22 May 2011
Year 4 21 May 2011 to 22 May 2010
Year 5 21 May 2010 to 22 May 2009
My question here is if i go down this option then end date is 22nd May 2009 but my Tier 1 general visa starts from 17th June 2009.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Year 3 21 May 2012 to 22 May 2011
Year 4 21 May 2011 to 22 May 2010
Year 5 21 May 2010 to 22 May 2009

In year 5, My Tier 1 General Visa Started from 17th June 2009 so what should i put there in year 5.

Should it be like this:

Year 5 21 May 2010 to 17 June 2009
or
Year 5 21 May 2010 to 22 May 2009 (if i put this then before 17th June 2009, i was on PSW not on Tier 1 General)

This doesn't matter just do a simple math.

Put dates e.g

21 May 2009 - 20 May 2010
21 May 2010 - 20 May 2011
21 May 2011 - 20 May 2012
21 May 2012 - 20 May 2013
21 May 2013 - 20 May 2014

Depending if EC is from 21st May 2009. The explanation in the ILR continuous period calculation is just a guidance.

I'd do the above as yr1 - yr5 from ascending order. And go and renew visa 28 days before 20 May 2014 provided 90 days prior first visit as EC.
