ILR 28day rule, will i have shortfall?

Please can someone advise me regarding below

Initial Tier 1 - 27/07/2009

Extension- 09/07/2012, valid until 09/07/2014 (I thought they should have given until 27/07/2014)

I am eligible for ILR in July 2014; please can someone advise if I am ok to apply 28days before the 5th anniversary (27/07/2014) with out any issue or should I go for extension?

Really Amber. I thought the visa validity also had to be for 5 years for the 28 day rule to apply. Could you confirm.
