English Language Qualification

Post by m.asif » Tue Mar 24, 2020 11:31 pm

Hi All,
I am asking this question on behalf of my wife.
My wife applied for long residence (10 years basis) in December 2019. Today she received an email from Home Office asking to provide most recent qualification for Spoken English from Trinity College London.
She used Trinity College GESE Grade 5 certificate she passed in 2014 which was used in her previous visa applications (spouse of British citizen and then on extension on same category).
Now we are a bit concerned whether this certificate is going to be accepted or not. Can you please advise if this can be used, if yes then please provide a reference so we can send along with the certificate. If it is not acceptable then please advise best course of action in this situation.
Thank you in advance and I really appreciate any help.

Applying to settle in the UK
You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if both of the following are true:

it’s on the current list of recognised tests
it was accepted for another UK immigration application, for example when you got permission to enter

Hi Zima,

Thank you for prompt response. This certificate was previously accepted and it is on SELT list however effective from date is 6 April 2015 and this test was taken in 2014. Would this still be acceptable?
