ILR and BRP issue

Post by tom88jerry » Fri Oct 16, 2020 3:20 pm

Hello All,

I just received my BRP for my Tier 2 extension today (after nearly 6 months since I applied) but my BRP has the incorrect name (Mistake from caseworker. I double checked on my application form and I put the right name).

This visa only valid until 12 NOV 2020 (in less than a month I applied back in April and just received it today). My employer extended it for only 6 months because I am planning to apply ILR and is eligible to apply from August.

I reported incorrect information on gov.uk/brp and it may take up to 20 working days (1 month), so it means I'll probably receive the response after my visa already expires. After response, it may take another 10 working days to delivery BRP (it took me 12 working days to receive the BRP).

What should I do now? Should I just apply ILR with this BRP? I don't want to overstay.

Report the mistakes and apply for ILR normally. Add a cover letter later to explain to you reported the mistakes on the BRP. It will be all fine
