Hi everyone,
I've been in the UK for the last 10 years as a student on multiple Tier 4 visas for my undergraduates, masters and PhD. I am currently on the Tier 4 doctorate extension scheme following the completion of my PhD and I'm planning to apply for my ILR in the next couple of weeks when I'll be completing my 10 years. I've encountered a question on the application form which I'm not sure how to answer. The question is whether I'm employed or unemployed or a student? Due to the pandemic, I'm unemployed at the moment. So I'm just wondering how to logically approach this question. The obvious answer would be unemployed. However, I'm on the tier 4 doctorate extension scheme, i.e. the university is sponsoring my tier 4 visa despite graduating from university. So does this still make me a student? What do you guys think? Or am I just overthinking this?
Thanks,
