ILR Question please

Post by Samurai1111 » Thu Mar 25, 2021 10:09 pm

Hello All-

I would greatly appreciate your guidance and advise on my unique situation

My visa history is as follows:

I had entered the UK in August 2017 on a spouse visa. My visa was curtailed in Feb 2019 due to break in my relationship. However, I got a Tier 2 visa from my work which is ongoing. My ex and I got divorced around April 2020.

In summary, I was on a spouse visa from Aug 2017 to Feb 2019 - Total of 1 year and 9 months and on a Tier 2 Visa from Feb 2019 until present. It will be 5 years in in the UK with a combination of the mentioned visas

My question is - Would I qualify for ILR based on the above information? What would I need to prepare for? Thank you

You can't combine time spent on your spouse visa with Tier2. Once you've spent 5yrs on your Tier2 - Feb 2024, you will be able to apply for ILR.

You can NOT combine time period on spouse visa with Tier 2. Your ILR clock for the 5 year route was reset to zero when you switched to Tier 2.
