ILR eligibility on tire 2 General visa route

Hi All,

Please can I get some advise on the below ?

I am in tire 2 General visa which was issued for 5 years. But the visa was issued on 20/10/2016 and expiry date is 04/09/2021.The staying period is less than 5 years(4 years, 10 months, 15 days). I am not sure though why in 5 years tire 2 General visa, the duration is given as less than 5 years ?

Please can you suggest, if I am eligible to apply ILR 28 days prior to the visa expiry date in this case or I need to apply for visa extension to complete 5 years in order to be eligible to apply ILR?

NO need for an extension as section 3C will cover you with lawful residence. Simply apply before visa expiry BUT book your appointment within 28 days of completing your 5 years.
