ILR Application - Urgent Help (Travel)

Post by Noddie09 » Wed Dec 15, 2021 9:57 pm

Hi Everyone,

A little bit of a long shot but any help would be much appreciated! Yesterday (14/12) I applied for my ILR and paid the £2400. Like many, I also didn’t see the priority service and “assumed” that this could be added today after getting my documents checked.

I paid £125 today and got my documents checked in 15 minutes only to discover priority could not be added! I know I should have read this blog yesterday before I paid but now I am stuck. I am due to fly home to Australia next week after being unable to visit the country for 2 years!! My mother has become very poor recently and this trip means the world to me.

1) Is there anyone I can reach out to for an exemption

2) Is there any phone number or email I can contact to add the priority service?

I am really struggling here! My current BRP is valid until March 2022 so I didn’t even assume travelling during the application would be a problem! 😭

There is no way to add priority after submission.
It is also super risky to rely on super priority and expect to receive BRP before your travel next week even if you got the option.
I would suggest you travel as planned and reapply when you come back, of course before current visa expiry. Your existing application will be withdrawn automatically when you depart and fee will be refunded.

Fees will not be refunded as the OP has attended the biometrics. I suggest withdrawing officially and applying after your return.
