Ignore what some have said.
There is nothing in the rules that says such a situation leads to refusal. Being incorrectly paid benefits is not your issue.
Why did you strat a new topic to ask the same question when you got advice previously on this ???Almohmds wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 3:01 pmHello everyone,
I recently applied for ILR two weeks ago after residing in the UK for five years as a refugee. In June 2022, I received a letter from Universal Credit stating that I had been overpaid £20,988, which represents all the money I received from them between 2019 and 2022. I appealed this decision, but unfortunately, nothing changed, and I have not yet initiated any repayment plan or contacted them, despite believing that the amount was incorrectly calculated and that I was entitled to these benefits from June 2019 to July 2021.
Could this debt affect my ILR application? What is the best way to address this claim? I have not taken any action since receiving the letter.
Thank you.
