Long Residency quiery

Post by vinata » Thu May 20, 2010 8:43 am

I am in the UK on the Tier 1 G visa expiring April 2013. However, i will qualify for 10 years Long Residency ILR in 2 years (April 2012). I am wondering if anybody knows what is going to happen to this long residency rule? I know that new settlement rules will come into effect in July 2011, but i don't know how they would impact on the long residency applications.

So, what are my chances to get approved then? Are there any proposals in place suggesting the possible removal or replacement of this long residency rule?

Speculate about (known and unknown) political strategy here.
