Name On Letters For ID

Post by AzimScot » Mon Sep 06, 2010 3:57 pm

I will be soon apply for my spouse ILR however I am wondering i have a couple of letters on joint names and thinking if i should send the surname on the letters is different than her passport and wage slips is this a bad idea to send these they may query or even reject visa because surname is different?

I remember when going to open a bank account we couldnt open it as her passport name and letter on surname was different.

I presume this is to do with married name vs maiden name?

Almost all supporting documents we submitted were in her married name, but her passport was still in her maiden name. We explained in the 'any other info' bit about it - but we also did the application in person.

And on the bank account bit - we got round that easily. We brought documents in her married name, her passport and our wedding certificate. So they opened it in her maiden name, then immediately changed the name.

Worked a treat for us.
