ILR Query Passport Vailidy (Self employed)

I've to apply for ILR in March including MY wife & son. I've got below queries

1. Do I need to have a particular amount of maintenance funds in my account for last three months? I also own a house in UK.
2. My sonâ€™s passport expires in October-2011 this year. Do they check how long the passport is valid for?

Iâ€™m a contractor with Limited company Iâ€™m planning to take below documents. Please advice if I need anything else:

Payslips (3 months)
Accountant letter
Bank Statement (3 months) (Do I need my business account Statements as well?)
Marriage Certificate
Birth Certificate
Life in UK Test result.

What is your current UK immigration category?

I'm on Tier-1 LTR Valid up to march 2013. Intially I came to Uk on WP valid for three year but in between I switched to HSMP & later got extension under Tier-1.

for passport and maintenance fund, there are no minimum requirements.

my general advise for self employed is that take as many documents as can. more documents cant harm you. are you applying in person or through post?
