ILR - Missing employment history - Please help

Hi All,

I'm applying for ILR (PEO) this August and have requested the employment history for the last 5 years from HMRC.

I've noticed there is one particular job where I worked for 8 months which is not showing up on the employment history. This is from Jan 09 to Aug 09. These wages were shown as part of my earnings for my Tier 1 extension in Aug 09. I was paid in to bank account and the statements reflect this. I still have the statements with me. However I do not have the payslips with me anymore. I have been on the phone to HMRC and they have confirmed there is nothing on their records to show I worked for this business.

To make things even more complicated, the company has gone into bankruptcy and there is no way i could contact them. In fact they owe me 3 months wages which they kept postponing until i was notified they filed for bankruptcy.

Can anyone please suggest if this will ba major issue and if so, what steps I can take?

All advice much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Did the employer in question issue you a P45/P60?

Hi sushdmehta,

No i wasn't given any. As I said they owe me 3 months wages before they went bust.

I'm really worried about this.

In simple words, it is called tax evasion by the employer.

Can anyone please advise. Would Tax evasion by previous employer have any bearing on my application?
