Absence from UK HELP!

Hello kind people.
How long can I have been outside of the Uk and still be okay to get my ILR (after 5 years being here)?
How do you calculate the absent days? Do I count the day I left and day I arrived?
eg:
23rd to the 26th of may - is that 4 days absent, or 2 because I was in the country on the departure and return.
Please help and link me to your sources if you can.
