ILR doubt

UK entry-2007 Feb- student visa
Switched to Post Study Work- Feb 2009
Switched to Tier 1 (G)- 2011 March valid for 2 years
Due extension in 2013 March, on my next extension(successful) would I be eligible to apply for Indefinite leave to remain(ILR) in UK in 2016(by 2016 I will have 7 years professional work history in UK) ? or 2014 (by 2014 I will have accrued 5 years of professional work experience in UK)
I have heard news that Tier 1 (G) applicants who applied after 2010 April are not eligible for category Indefinite leave to remain in UK based on their 5 years work history is that true ?
If what I heard was true, then could I apply for ILR in 2016 as I will be completing 10 years living in UK ?
