Travel plans, ILR and “Registration” for uk born child

Hello All,

I am on Tier-1(general) visa and my wife and son (born in UK) are on Tier-1(Dependent). We all have current leave expiring in May 2014 (with my second Tier-1 extension) and I’ll be applying for ILR in sept 2012 as I’ll be completing my 5 years in UK.
We are planning to travel outside UK in Nov-Dec 2012.
I am planning to apply ILR (in Sept 2012) only for my wife and myself and would be applying for “Registration”( naturalisation) for my son after our return from travel in Jan 2013(as he already got current Tier-1 (dependent) leave valid till 2014).

My doubts are:
-When parents are granted ILR, does that effect (or invalidates) any current visa help by dependents (my son in this case)?
-During my travel in Dec 2012, considering that we (my wife n myself) would be having ILR and my son would have valid tier-1(dependent), do you see any potential issues with travel?
-Once we are back to UK after travel and while applying for “Registration” (naturalisation), do you see any issues?

Thanks in advance.

Hi ,

When parents are granted ILR, does that effect (or invalidates) any current visa help by dependents (my son in this case)?

Yes the visa for dependent goes off and have to apply for fresh one . In your case it's BP or the ILR

During my travel in Dec 2012, considering that we (my wife n myself) would be having ILR and my son would have valid tier-1(dependent), do you see any potential issues with travel?

As stated above mate , he can't travel .. i can't see any issue while he leaves but once he is back on immigration counter ( uk) , you will run in trouble .

Once we are back to UK after travel and while applying for “Registration” (naturalisation), do you see any issues?

You have to do your BP / ILR before leaving the country .

Cheers and good luck

Hi aliq09,
Thanks for clarifying. I was in doubt. Perhaps I have to prepone my travel plans.
