Hi,

1. I would be really grateful if some body could please clarify that when I would be eligible for the ILR as my spouse visa is expiring on 30 December 2012(Please explain in the light of 28 days rule that from which date do I become eligible to apply ILR)

2. I entered as a Fiance and then spouse visa was issued on 30 december 2010 till 30 december 2012 so does it fulfil 2 year requirement i.e. 24 months?I,m asking this coz people are normally issued 27 month spouse visa from outside the UK but as i entered as fiance on 1st of November 2010 so does it fulfil the two year visa requirement?

3. When do I need to take the KOL test?can I take test at any time lets say for an instance next month which is August even though my visa is expiring in December which is 4 months away from now.

4. If I take the test in next month then will it be valid in December? or is there any special rule that you must take the test a week or 2 before you apply for ILR?

5.Is there any expiry date for the Life in the UK test?

6. I would like to go in person so when I should start looking to book an appointment as visa is expiring on 30th december 2012 and I intend to go to PEO between 4 to 7 of december.

Any input and replies will be highly appreciated.

A person can take the LIUK test at anytime, ideally when they feel they are adequately prepared for it.

LIUK test results are valid for 'life', but in real, the max you would hold it for is one year after you got your ILR, if you decide to go the Citizenship route. Because, you need to provide the LIUK test result for Citizenship, and you will be eligible to apply for Citizenship after 1 yr of ILR.

Point to note, LIUK test format is changing in the next few months.
