Dear All,
I have read the articles on this website but couldn't get the answer for my ILR 5 qualifying period query. Could someone please help me with the following query,
I have got HSMP visa stamped from Pakistan on 13 Sep 2007
Came to the UK (Entry clearance) on 18th October 2007
Teir 1 (General) visa issued on 13th Sep 2009
Teir 1 (General) visa expiring on 13th Sep 2012
I have taken same day appointment for me and two dependents (wife and daughter) on 24th August 2012 at Croydon
Could someone please answer if I qualify for ILR 5 year qualifying period on 24th August 2012?
Thanks in advance for your help
Regards[/b]

Dear Danny & innocentdevil,
Thanks a lot for your quick responses, one last thing wanted to confirm,
Do I have to keep Maintenance Funds for ILR ( e.g £900 for me and £900 for each dependent for 3 months)?

Not necessary, but no harm in having some funds in the account.

I am sure you have thought of the MN(1) route for your child, if the child was born in UK.

Dear wpilr_nov12,
I did had a thought to apply my daughter through MN(1) route but I was told it takes 3-6 months and I cannot wait that long due planned holidays.
Do you think it is worth applying through MN(1) route?

zahidnadeem77: On average children MN1 applications are taking 3 months to decide these days. But then you need to leave at least a month for British Passport. I would suggest get child's ILR with you as you have travel plans, and apply for MN1 also after getting ILR.
That's what I did. I had travel plans and I got ILR for myself and my wife and also for both of my kids at the same time. And applied for their (kids) MN1s before we went on holiday.

Also, as you got EC on Thursday, September 13, 2007 so you are eligible to apply for ILR on or after
Thursday, August 16, 2012.
So 24th Aug 2012 is fine for you.
same for Tier 2

Hi.. Is the requirement same for Tier 2 (ICT) also? My visa was stamped on 20/10/07 but I came to UK on 20/11/07 - after 1 month. From which date the 5 yrs period is counted? My current visa expires on 15/10/2012.
Many thanks
