Days Short For Long Residence

Hi,

• I recently have received my PSW valid till 24th August 2014;
• I am 39 days short from the date of entry and 29 days short from the visa start date to make a long residence application (considering if rules don’t change and I fulfil other requirements too).

I just need to know my options to cover this gap (24th August 2014 – 23rd September / 03rd October 2014), do I need to apply extension in any category to bridge this gap and during extension can I use my 3C leave to vary the grounds and apply ILR on the basis of long residence?

Thanks

A person received Entry clearance at 23 September 2003

Entered in Britain 03 October 2003

Leave valid 24 August 2013

Can he apply long residence or does he need to apply extension in some other category to bridge this gap (24 August 2013 – 03 October 2013) ?
First, it would help to stick to one set of dates, ideally the real ones.

Second, based on your own calculations, when does your 10 year start and finish? Those two would be crucial to give you right info.

First one was asked hypothetically, 2nd one is a real one. But most importantly what difference does it make as both asking the same question.

Entry clearance date: 23 August 2004

Date of entry: 03 October 2004

PSW valid: 24 August 2014

When can I make my long residence application or do I have to apply extension to bridge the gap? If I apply Long residence by post before 10th anniversary; I am thinking the time I get the biometrics and CW will start considering my application I will cross the 10thanniversary on 3C leave.
