Applying for ILR for almost 18 years old dependent

Hi

I’m planning to apply for ILR (SET O) by post (as I couldn’t manage to get PEO appointment) on 1st Nov 2012 with my son who will be 18 on 3th Nov 2012. So my question is if I send our ILR application on 1st Nov 2012 (by next day guaranteed delivery), can I include him as an under 18 dependent?

Or do I’ve to fill a separate form for him and pay full fees for him, considering that by the time the case worker starts processing our application he will be 18 years old?

I’m on HSMP + Tier 1 visa.

Thank you very much.

If your circumstances allow, give yourself a few more days, ie send in your app last week of October. This is called the absurd rule of 'just in case'. And make sure you have your application watertight, especially on the payment and photo side. You don't want your application returned as 'invalid', or for whatever reason. And keep copies of everything as you will be without your papers for at least 6 months.

Good luck.

Yes. Keep proof of posting in safe custody.
