ILR SET(M) PEO Application

I have need to know an urgent answer to the following question:

We recently made application for ILR SET(M) at a PEO. Unfortunetly they required one extra document which was posted tot hem the next day so arrived 2 days after out appoinmrnt date. They sais that this needs to be sent to the Liverpool office. At the time the PEO officer informed us that this weill delay the application by several weeks.

We informed them that we have pre-arranged atravel booked they made a note of the file to say that, we also sent then a copy of out tickect with
the one extra document they required, Eveything else was oK with the application and they also took the biomentric readings that day.

My question is how long does the process take through this route as we need to quickly decide if we should wait or if we should ask for the passport back which would then mean that we need to apply from outside the UK which would complicate matters and which would take significant time and affect other comminments.

I know this how long is piece of stirng type question, but the UKBA can not
privode to us an update as it nowhere near the 6 months. But this is not a normal postal application. If anyone has gone through a similar process maybe you could advice how long it took in yoiur case that would perhaps help us make an inform choice. If this is going to take a long time I would asked my my documents back that day and then re-applied thorough the PEO route, which would of been quciker provided one can get an appointment.

your advice is greatly appeciated.

Regards
Mr. Singh.

One cannot apply for settlement (ILR) from outside the UK.

And neither can anyone on the forum answer that question. If a decision has been deferred (e.g. - for lack of some documentary evidence), the general understanding is that the application is then as good as a postal application and can take as much time.

You may have your application decided upon very soon or you may have to wait for weeks or months, no one can tell you for sure.
