Hi All,

I have been reading through SET (O) form and I do not understand what they mean by section 11 L:
"Tier 1 (General) migrant If you are applying for indefinite leave to remain on completing 5 years’ continuous stay in the UK made up of leave as a Tier 1 (General) migrant and leave as a highly skilled migrant, work permit holder, innovator, self-employed lawyer or writer, composer or artist, in addition to the relevant documents in 11A, you must provide the following documents:
Evidence specified in section 9A of this form
For the period before you were granted leave as a Tier 1 (General) migrant, documents showing that you met the relevant requirements of the immigration rules.

I have got a one year-work permit, then followed by Tier 1 for 4 years, so I have a mix of Tier 1 and work permit VISA, does this section apply to me?

What do they mean by "For the period before you were granted leave as Tier.."? Before I got my Tier 1, I was on a work permit. Do I need to collect document for my first year working as work permit holder?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Do you have a copy of your WP authorisation letter and tax document (P60 / P45) or payslips for the year in question?

Thank you for your reply.

I do not have the WP letter. But I have the P60 and payslips for that year. I thought they will ask for the payslips and documents only for the last year before ILR!

This means they need documents for the first year (while on work permit) and the last year (while on Tier 1), Is this right?

In my case, I was on WP for 1 year, then 4 years on Tier 1. It is strange that they are interested in documents 5 years old while not asking for the subsequent years.

Thank you.

The P60 should be enough, should the caseworker enquire about your stay in the UK before switching to Tier 1 (General) and asks for any associated documentary evidence.

Thank you very much for your reply.

That is great, so I will make sure to have the P60 and other documents I manage to find for the work permit year.

By the way, I just found a copy (not original) letter from UK border saying that my application to work permit was approved. But I could not find the original copy. I am reluctant to show this letter as the case worker might ask for the original letter. What do you think please?

Thanks again.

No harm in taking it along, should the caseworker asks for WP authorisation. You can always be honest and state that you don't have the WP authorisation letter.

Hi all,

Same situation here applying ILR in 3rd Jan.

I have 1.5 yrs of WP + 3.5 yrs with Tier 1 and wondering the evidence documentations required for WP time. I am currently on different employers.

Do I need to show the letter from the company that gave me the WP?
