Hi all,
I want to apply for the 10 year long residence but my current visa is expiring three days before my 10 years are completed. My question is should I get an extention first and apply after 10 years are completed or should I apply with two days short in ten years.
Also anyone aware of any similar case which has been successful.
Thanks in advance.

100% agree with above reply, u can apply 28 before completing 10th year, regardless of if u have or have not leave till end of 10 year :)

Any one know of any success story of some one whose visa finished just before completing the 10 years time and he applied for the ILR and got the visa.

Wrong information by Sami 71 and RANA - ALI

You have to have a valid immigration status (visas) for the whole 10 years of you stay. That means 10 years should be from the day you landed in the uk to the last day when you complete 10 years.

So your visa should cover the whole 10 years. If it covers then yes you can apply 28 days before your 10 years completion.

I am afraid you have to apply for an extension coz i think they will refuse it staight away.
