Dependents - FLR or ILR?

Hi,
I have a question regarding ILR application for dependents if they are not applying together with me.

Currently, me and my dependents have extension of leave to remain granted till Dec-2015. I intend to apply for ILR sometime in May-2013. As I am not sure about being successful in my ILR application, I intend to apply for ILR only for myself and not for dependents. My question is what to do next if my ILR application is successful:
a) Can I apply for ILR for my dependents straight away (PBS Dependent to ILR)?
or
b) Do I have to first apply for FLR for them as dependent of settled person before I can apply for ILR for them? - (is it must?)

c) Is there any time limit within which they have to change the status as either ILR or FLR of settled person? (as their current leave as PBS dependent may not remain valid).

Please advise.

If the PBS dependant's current leave will expire after he/she has completed the qualifying period and the dependant meets the other requirements for settlement then the dependant may apply for settlement directly (319E).

Please note they will have to switch to FLR(M) if you are applying for your ILR through 10yr LR Route.
