My friend has recently been refused his l ILR application on the basis of long residency. The reason given in the letter is of Cambridge college from where he obtained his diploma and got his one year IGS subsequently. HO says they do not consider that period of diploma or IGS and hence refused but existing visa will be valid till finished.
Any suggestion help please.

Sorry to here that.... Strange UKBA.
Why would they consider the diploma invalid now? Didn't they check the
course and college when they allowed visa previously based on this diploma certificate?
Obviously, this college was in UKBA's approved list hence they granted the visa earlier and if the college didn't follow correct procedure it's not your friend's fault.

They consider it invalid because all the so called students bought the certificates for no study and the college was raided by UKBA and Police.
