NIC for Employed

Hi, I am employed with India based company in London with Tier-1 Visa and i worked for onshore/offshore module. I am completing my 5 years in uk in March and bit worries about NIC deduction.
My employer has not deducted the NIC for initial 6 month in 2012, they have deducted only tax on my Gross salary. Initial 6 payslip it is showing NIC = 0 . But after 6 month they have start deducting.
Should i go for ILR with this condition. Plz reply
