Hi rs.ind
I am no expert on this but I am in the same boat as you and my app is next week aswel.
It all depends on the points that you are fetching/claiming that matters.
As long as you are making same/more points as your previous tier1 gen extension you are fine.
I was self employed during my last tier 1 gen ext and had been paying all my tax returns till date on time (still doing last years :) ). I am now full time employed and self employmed too, but only showing full time emplyment as its enough to claim points and also want to keep my case as simple as possible.
I hope this helps and Good Luck
