If you purchase the book from TSO , the test will be based on that book. Currently it is the Second Edition, ISBN 9780113413133

That's correct. The LITUK test is still based on old material (facts & figures). A new test has not been released since 2007, & therefore you should prepare using the book mentioned here.

Gave mine 2 weeks back and the questions come from 2007 edition. Only give answers what's written in the book, not what the present actual figures are

That's right - the questions are based on the 2007 edition. However, I did read somewhere that they are trying to remove the questions that would be completely wrong in today's context - for e.g. When is the next census - 2011 as per the book which is obviously wrong for now.

just a note on their website I saw today.

"Please note that for tests due to be taken on or after 25 March 2013, the questions will be based on the new Life in the UK Handbook (Third Edition). Tests to be taken before 25 March 2013 will be based on the Life in the UK Handbook (Second Edition). "

Yes, you can find this confirmed on the TSO website, where the reference books to use for test preparation are sold: http://www.tsoshop.co.uk/bookstore.asp? ... kid=002417

I have spent on official idiot-phone app abt £3.99, guess that should be more than enough to pass this test. There are free ones, found few errors in the free one. It's good app if you trust my review.
