Hi there,

I have 2 questions:

1. I entered UK under the old Work Permit category in Feb 2007 and I left this employer in Feb 2011. My current employer is sponsoring my current Tier 2 visa and this started in Mar 2011.
Question Does the ILR qualifying period start from 2007 or does it start from the date of my current permit?

2. My current passport (which has my old work permit sticker stamp on) is due to expire in 9 months.
Question: Does the passport which I submit as supporting document need to have a minimum period before it expires or should I renew my passport first before applying?
I intend to apply in person.

When did you apply for T2?
Where were you between these two dates?

WP issued with old employer in 16 Jan 07
Entry clearance: 20 Feb 07 valid till 20 Feb 12
Tier 2 with new employer issued 14 Feb 2011 inside UK valid till 1 Mar 2014.

I was in the UK when I applied for Tier 2 with new employer.

Your qualifying period starts from Feb 2007.

Why did you not apply for ILR in Feb 2012?
