Hi I hope someone can shed some light on this. Currently i am on tier 2 visa and i will be eligible for ILR in oct 2014. Since we know , from oct 2013 all aspiring ILR candidates will have to pass english test. So my question is , i have done my graduation from a uk university , so will i be required to give english test or i will be exempted coz i have done my graduation from a UK university?

Even though me having 2 UK Professional Qualifications,I was advised to sit for the LIT. Which i passed ,with out any problems. I doubt you will get an exception, having graduated from UK. Why not call them on 0800 0154245 ( During working hours)

The English Language requirement and LITUK test requirement for ILR are independent of each other. Both must be met for ILR.
OP, if you satisfied the English language requirement, by means of a UKBA recognised degree taught in English when your T2 LTR was granted then the same will be valid for your ILR (so long as that college or qualification has not for any reason been removed from the UKBA recognised qualification list - E.g. bogus college).
You will need to pass the LITUK test, which is independent to this.

Hi cs95tdg,
Thanks for your prompt reply. That was the answer i was looking for. Yes, i used my degree certificate to prove my english efficiency when first applied for tier 2. I did my degree from oxford university , so i dont see any problem with the degree or the university, I have passed my Liuk about 6 months ago ( 2 years before the ILR) , to get the hassels out of the way.
So i believe i have a clear way to ILR, unless UKBA pocks there nose in between with something else..lol
Kind regards
