Hi, My visa was issued in 31\12/2004...... First entry to uk in 16/4/2005 My question is: - -if I want to apply for 10 years long residence, should I account from first issuing of visa or first time entry to uk. - - my waif and son have visa issued in the same date, but they followed me in 4/6/2005.... Is that mean they broken their visa for absence of 6 month out of uk.

you can apply for ILR on 19th march 2015 onwards but your wife & son won't be eligible to apply at the same time as you , they can apply 28 days before the 10th anniversary of their first entry to the UK.

In addition to the statement in blue above, your current dependents can switch to 'dependent of a settled person' after your own ILR is issued, but by which time, they would be eligible for 10 year route on their own rights.

Their 10 year's clock starts from the date they entered into the UK. As advised by guru they can apply as dependants of settled person once you get your ILR if they dont become eligible on their own rights.
