English Test Requirements - Very confused

Hiya

Sorry I have tried searching but am still not sure about the English test requirements. I am planning to apply ILR for my wife and as I understand from the forms that she has to take an EOSL and LIUK test. Before coming to the UK, she took some english test Level A1 for partners which I think is only valid when entering the UK.

From this page
If you are an English speaker (see below), you must pass the 'Life in the UK test'.
and then
You qualify as an English speaker if your English skills are at or above ESOL Entry Level 3 or Scottish Intermediate 1. If you do not know the level of your English skills, you should work through the tutorial on the Life in the UK test website. If you cannot fully understand the information in that tutorial, you may need to take an ESOL course containing citizenship materials.
Now my wife understands the tutorials and I am sure she'll pass the LIUK test as well. Would it qualify her as English speaker and passing the LIUK test waive her EOSL test requirements? Or she still has to take this English test?

Would appreciate any advise.

Thanks

ESOL for ilr is only for those whose English is not good enough to take the life in the UK test. If she can pass the life in the UK test she doesn't also need ESOL

When will you be applying?
From October 2013, all applicants for settlement will be required to pass the Life in the UK test and present an English language speaking and listening qualification at B1 level or above, unless they are exempt from the requirement to do so
