ILR Approved @ Croydon on 21st Feb 2013

Thanks everyone for your guidance. I got ILR on 21st Feb 2013 @ Croydon PEO and would like to share my experience.

Summary –
Applicants – Main + 3 dependents
Category – WP (8 months) + Tier 1 (4 yrs 4 months)
Working status – 2 yrs (Permanent Employee) + 3 yrs (Employee of Own Ltd company)
Entry in UK – Entered 15 days after getting the EC stamp on my passport
Application Date – Applied 10 days before completing the exact 5 yrs in UK.
Total days outside UK – 66 days (Although total holidays were more than 100 they were in UK only)

Appointment time – 12:55pm
11:45 AM - Entry Time (As reached 45 mins before @ PEO and luckily entered same time)
11:48 AM - Security Check completed (3 mins)
11:56 AM – Tokan allocation + Initial Application check completed @ ground floor (6 mins)
12:03 PM – Paid Fee @ First Floor (7 mins)
12:26 PM – Initial passport and other details entered in computer by staff @ First Floor (20 mins)
12:50 PM – Biometric completed for all four @ First Floor (20 mins)
Now waiting time starts – Reasons, Lunch time and normal biometric result processing (2 hrs)

02:45 PM – Case worker allocated @ First Floor
CW – Please give Token number, Application, Passports, BRPs and all supporting documents
Me – Submitted both folders Original and Photocopies without asking any questions
CW – That’s it. Have you given all the docs?
Me – Yes all the documents mentioned in application.
CW – Ok wait in waiting area
Me – Can we go outside for some time
CW – No I may call you for clarification if required
Me – Ok thanks and she disappeared with all docs

02:47 PM – Submitted documents to CW @ First Floor (2 mins)
04:18 PM – CW called and returned folder with original docs (1.5 hrs)
CW - You will receive BRPs in 7 days
Me – OK, Does it mean my ILR is approved?
CW – Yes
Me – Thanks and she disappeared again
Now question was no approval document was provided. I opened the folder with mixed feelings and here is surprise, first document was approval letter for me and dependents.
I was expecting signature as well, as many applicants were signing the documents after getting the approval letter. I asked this question to Customer Service Desk and lady said – Not required.
I thanked God …. :)
04:35 PM – Outside the building (4.5 hrs)

Documents Submitted –
1. SET (O) Form
2. Photographs with name on back
3. Passports (Current and previous) with photocopies
4. BRPs with photocopies
5. Life in UK pass certificates (for Both)
6. 12 Payslips with photocopies
7. 12 Personal bank statements with photocopies
8. 12 Dividend Vouchers
9. 1 Accountant letter with photocopy
10. 4 P60s + 1 P45 with photocopies (Optional)
11. Tier 1 points calculation sheet (Optional)
12. Tier 1 and Extension approval letters (Optional)
13. Cohab docs with photocopies – 5 yrs (Had only few documents in last 2 yrs so gave all)
- Council tax letters (Joint)
- NHS letters (only for wife)
- NI letters (only for wife)
- Electoral registration letters and polling cards (for both)
- Letter from landlord that we are staying together, as only my name is mentioned on rent agreement
- Wife’s Bank statements, P60 and Salary Slips (1 for each quarter)
- Marriage Cert and Birth certificates for both kids

Documents in Other big folder with photocopies (Not submitted) –
1. Company Reg doc
2. VAT Reg docs and receipts
3. Business account statements
4. Corp tax docs
5. Self assessment statements
6. Company house docs
7. Company Invoices
8. Company’s P/L docs
9. Contract documents (Previous and current)
10. Previous personal bank statements
11. Previous Salary slips
12. Work Permit approval letter for Initial entry
13. Initial deputation letter
14. Other previous employer’s and company’s letters
15. Other Cohab docs like utility bills, store letters, payment receipts etc

Experience and Observations –
1. Croydon is a very good PEO. Every one was supportive from entry gate to exit gate. Would like to recommend if you want to receive good professional service.
2. Noticed Original Accountant Letter was missing in folder but not required now so didn't ask.
3. Continuous stay of 2 yrs is not a requirement for spouse. If more than 2 yrs in last 5 yrs will solve the problem. Again it depends upon the CW
4. Always reach before time (more than 1 hr) sply after noon appointments :)
5. Don’t give extra documents to avoid confusion. Only provide on request.
6. Don’t ask too many questions or argue. Only ask question when you are not clear.
7. Don’t waste time if you are not clear where to go, just go and ask some one.

Now waiting for BRPs. Any idea how much time it generally takes?

Congrats! Officially 7 working days, though many receive them within 3-4 days. Note however I have seen several recent posts on this forum where there have been delays in receiving BRP's which has been attributed to technical issues in the BRP production process.

Hi psTier1, did case worker asked for the cohab documents? the reason why I am asking is that I have ILR appointment at PEO Croydon on 28th Feb. My wife and I don't have any joint documents. However she has NHS letters, bank account, electricity and gas bills, electoral registration letter from council.

Do you think these documents would be enough to fulfill cohab requirement?

No CW didn't ask any question at all. I had only council tax letters on joint names. So I think you will be fine. Joint document is not a requirement. Separate letters with same address are good enough.

Congratulation !
Just wondering how did you managed to get appointment for yourself +dependants? When I am checking I am only getting available slot for myself only.. Not for dependants:-(

Keep trying patience is the key word here. Also search the web for tips on booking PEO appointment.

Sanjit, Its not easy but again it's not difficult too.

Option 1 - Just follow the steps mentioned in below link.

Option 2 - Get any appointment and start preparing your paper work then keep on trying during day time to reschedule.

I followed both options first followed 1 then rescheduled it one week before.
