Got my biometric visa on 27th Feb 2011, entered the UK on 7th March 2011, the date on the visa says it expires in 27th May 2013.
Am enquiring as I have yet to do the Life in the Uk test, and it says can't book test within 7 days of booking it...
Does my visa expires in the 2 years after entry or on the biometric visa date of May 2013?
Having trouble calling the UK border control to answer the above query.
Thanks in advance for your help,

Found in the webpage under 'those who applied from outside the UK':
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... /how-long/
It says 27 months probationary period which means I should be ok, but it throws another question regarding the Life in the Uk test which changes after 25th March 2013, so do I wait for that to do that test before submitting my application for ILR in April/May?

The date of expiry is the date shown on your visa. If you're ready to take the Life in the UK test now and pass this will be valid for your application in May.

Thanks, have booked the test in 2 weeks' time, can I apply well before the end of visa, i.e. more than 28 days beforehand? I'll have lived here for over 2 years then anyway...just wish to get the process over and done with as soon as possible!

Yes, so long as you meet the residence requirement, you can apply at any time you wish. I.e. you need not wait until 28 days before your visa expiry date.
