Ilr applied through post

Myself, husband and so applied ILR through post in July 2012. Amount was deducted from account on 8/8/2012. Still mar 2013 no reply from home office. Lucky we received our ILR successfully for three of them on 8/3/2013.
My second son born on 9/9/2012. Shall I take directly red passport for my son or I need to register my son as a british before taking passport.
