Ya with dependents..but looking at the new fee structure thinking of doing for self first and then apply by post for dependents.>Since u asked let me open up

As per new fee ..In person charges for me (main)will be 1051+375=1426.
If I go for dependents along with me .. (788)*2+375*2=2326

If I go postal for dependents, I can save that 375*2=750£ isnt it..Any thoughts?

I think your partner becomes the main applicant and your children become the dependents. Hence for two dependents, you can not save 750 pounds.

If I do seperate , it would be Set(M) for my partner (1051) and child will be the dependent (788)..ie saving would be around 490£ on postal route.. isnt it? Thanks!

Having said that can someone advise if i go for my dependents seperately , should that be Set(M) for my partner and Set(F) for my child??and will the above understanding about 1051+788 still be valid? Or will it be 1051+1051?

I think your partner will need to use SET(M) and your child can be dependent. So the fee will be 1051+788 by post.

Another point, if your child was born in UK and you will eventually apply citizenship for your child, then you do not need to apply for ILR for your child. You can apply for citizenship for your child directly after you get your ILR. In this case, you will save about 100 pounds only if your partner applies by post.

That's correct. Any way Postal applications are gooid your Case is complicated??

I got confused with Set(F) which says its for a child under 18 as below.

You can apply for settlement using form SET(F) if you are:

a child aged under 18 of a parent, parents or a relative who is a permanent resident of the UK and currently living here;

I think if your child applies alone, then he or she has to use SET(F).
However if your child applies with your partner, then he or she can the dependent.
