I have sent an email to
applyonlinee-support@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, and was told that you can apply using two separate appointment, but you have to pay two main applicants' fee.

I had also booked two different appointmwent but I will cancel those as alanwong mentioned they will be considered as two different application rather than one (i think this also changed from March ) ...So try to get only one appointment for main applicant and dependant . Its very frustating for me too.

Lost another booking appointment battle. When click book now UKBA website says no longer available.
Now need to spend £££s on OISC members to get an appointment.

I am thinking about taking a single PEO appointment for me and then send a postal application for my wife (dependant) -how does this strategy sound? It will save me paying £1377 for each!!!

If your wife is the only dependent, then this is not a good strategy on money-wise. Your wife applies only then she has to pay the main applicant's fee and you will save only 100 pounds and takes ages.

I agree with alanwong as I am adding my wife as dependent as my only son was born in the UK.

She is my only dependant (while excluding UK born kid). So prepare my self to payout £1377 x2 =£2754!!!! This is ridiculous why don't they update their appointment system to issue appointments with dependants...!!!

Those who make the system do not use the system. That is probably why the system makes our life so difficult. It is also a monopolistic service. Like it or not, we have to use it.

Entered in the UK on 05/06/2008

Dear All,
After reading the forum FAQs bit confused now. The 28 days is it from entry clearance or date of entry? I am in old style work permit.
Is my appointment 26th April date is correct?(same old question, sorry)

Rule is : If the period between EC and Date of entry is less than 90 days than you can apply 28 days before EC date(visa issue date). so i think you should be fine. And just to confirm you that I have clarified this at so many places now
