FLR(M); Is our baby my dependant?

My husband is born and brought up in the UK and has always been a British citizen and UK passport holder. I am in the UK from India on a Tier 2 as a doctor and am applying for the FLR(M). We have a baby born in December 2012.
As my husband is British, will my child be considered British or do I need to apply with a dependant?

Thanks for this. I was sure this would be the case but UKBA told me twice on the phone our baby would be a dependant - because she doesn't have a passport. Isn't that a document for travelling rather than something that makes you British?

Correct.
Moreover, it's not compulsory for British citizens to hold British passports.
Conversely, holding a British passport does
not necessarily make the holder British.
Child is
automatically British, with or without a British passport. British citizens have the
right of abode. They do not need to apply for leave to enter/remain.
Interestingly, even non-British UK-born children are
not required to apply for leave to remain.
