Life In The UK Test, new or old?

Hello All
I passed my Life in the UK test last year when I applied for ILR. My ILR was rejected and I applied for an extension to my Tier 1 instead.
(probably the most stressful time of my life)
I will apply for ILR this summer, and want to use my pass letter from last year but I know as of March a new test has been rolled out.
Does anyone know if I am expected to pass the new test if my application is this year/after the new test has been rolled out?
I have been told not to worry and the pass is valid for life, but I certainly don't want to take any chances and I have already been a victim of UKBA incompetence and confusion.
Any feedback is helpful, thanks!!
