ILR application under T1G with 165 days single absence

Hi,

I am new to this forum, so excuse me if I am asking something which is already been discussed.
I am on T1G and applying for ILR in first week of June. I have a single absence of 165 days in a single 12 month block.
The reason for absence is losing a job during recession in 2009 and going back to India for a job.

1. Do I still meet the continuous residence criteria and can apply for ILR with confidence?

2. If yes, do I have to show any proof for my 165 single absence ? I am assuming that for T1G, you need not submit any proof ?

I appreciate your feedback.
Thank you

Hi,

I had called the ukba immigration enquiry to ask for this information. They said that as long as your absences are within the guideline limit of 180 days, they do not expect you to chase past employers to get letters.

You can take a letter of absences with your current employer in terms of leave records.

That was a relief.
