Apply for ILR under 10 years LR route IN PERSON, why not?

Hi all,

Have you got a minute to spare? Do you think it is really too long for LR ILR applicants who have to wait for more than 8 months to get a decision? Yes, you can help, please tell the Home Office that we would very much welcome the premium service being introduced for 10-year LR applications.

It takes only one minute to take a part in the survey!

If you are living in the UK and are looking to extend your stay or make a new application, we want to hear from you.

At the Home Office we are continually working to improve the service available to our customers. In response to feedback, we are considering a range of additional options to make our services in the UK more flexible.

You can help by telling us which services you would use if they were available. Your feedback will help inform decisions about the future of premium services in the UK.

The survey is for applicants in the UK and takes around one minute to complete. Thank you for helping us improve our service.

Thank you very much!

Hi,

I just did the survey and I must say, same day or even 7 day service is what we should be receiving anyway especially with the amount of money being charged for any of the visas.

Also, before I stumbled upon this topic, I was going through the pages of 'Settlement' on UKBA and apparently I can't find the para which used to say that application in person cannot be made if you are applying for settlement under 10/14 years long residence option.

May be I have missed out some information but would be good if someone else could check the same. I am sure it used to say that before and now it is not there at all.

All the best and hope many more people do this survey.

I got confused as well.
It's a different form for 10 years from 6 April 2013:
Form SET(LR)

You can use form SET (LR) to apply to settle here if you have been legally resident in the UK for a continuous period of 10 years.

To find out how to apply, see Completing application form SET(LR).
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... t%28LR%29/
How do I apply?
You must complete the form in block capitals using a black pen. Please enter all dates as dd-mm-yyyy (for example, 29-04-2000).

You can make your application by posting form SET(LR), with the documents listed in section 4 of the form, to the address given on the cover of the form.
So unfortunately, only postal application

Thanks!

Yes, we need more people to submit the survey, please ask friends and family to support us too. I really believe that the priority service which takes 3-4 weeks for a decision would be applied to 10-year LR applicants.

Let's pray!

HEY

This survey is also posted in one of the other threads on this forum.

Also, the survey notes the individual IP address of your computer, which is why you can't do it again from same PC, but I am sure you can do it from a different PC at home/work.

And yes friends/family can always add more and more to this survey.

All the best to all.

ILR application on 10 years basis is not being served at same day service perhaps it covers wider length of case history.

That's true, but the proposed new priority service which will take 3-4weeks (charged for 275 pounds extra) is highly possible.

I did the survey too. I also want them to make 10 years ILR application faster. But there is only one field in the survey where you can write yourself. I think it's on the second page (3 pages on total).

They really need to make 10 years ILR faster.

Please complete this survey and don't miss this little field where you can write yourself. :D

I just went on it - the survey is now closed! Did did it a few times over the last couple of weeks from different computers and also got a few friends and colleagues to take it as well!

Hope we see some results soon!
