When the earliest I can Book PEO appointment for ILR

Hi All,
this board has been very useful in terms of information sharing. I am reading through for quite some time but became member today.
I am on Tier 1 G (3+2). I have ILR due on 15th Jan 2014(28 days before the completing 5 years in UK). I am not sure when the earliest i can book the appointment. I have been told that it is always difficult to get a slot for appointment so better book and take whichever slot is available and then keep changing it.
Not sure how much true it it
