I entered UK on 8/09/2003. My visa was valid from 23/08/2003.

Can i apply after 10 years from date of entry to UK OR date of visa issue ?

Your 10-year qualifying period starts from either:

the date when you arrived in the UK with a visa; or

the date you were given permission to stay in the UK.

You can apply from 28 days before the 10 year period.

Hi Amber,
Bit confused with above statement.

Im in same situation.

When can I apply LR?
Visa Issued - 18/09/2003... 28 days before this???? or
Entry clearance - 06/10/2003....28 days before this date.

Please advice. Many Thanks in Advance.

I thought its starts from the date you enter UK.

I had 5 visits in 10 years as following absence.
46 ,51,55,64,53 days in/after 1 or 2 years and in total 269 days in 10 years. Hoping safe...isn't.

Please advice.

2. In total the absences do not exceed 540 days

Bare in mind you should have a valid visa upon entry and exit.

Hi There,

My brother is applying for his ILR ( LR ) and missing few entry and exit stamps on his passport. Can you advise what he should do. He doesn't know the dates he travelled outside UK and when get got back. Please help

secondly, I assume the only way of applying is by post and waiting for 6 months. I assume cant apply through same day PEO service

You assume correctly, has the applicant not got any tickets or booking receipts for the dates travelled? In the end estimated dates will have to suffice, the Hone Office should have dates on their system.

Unfortunately the travel was made in 2003 and 2004. Hence no tickets available either as email or receipts

I was told we can write to a agency in UK who can let us know our travel dates, dont know the name of the agency though

I checked the SAR however I got to know the SAR wouldnt have the details of my outbound date.

For couple of my travel in 2004 and 2003, I do have inbound date ( stamp on my passport ) but I dont know the outbound date of my travel.

Any ideas what I should do? Shall I just guess and put a random date? WOuld I be in trouble for giving false details

It seems UK only stamp the passport on entry. I had the same issue in calculating the exit dates from UK. However my destination country always stamped my entry date which gave me the exit date from UK for the last 10 years. So you should be able to work out from that...
