I assume you want to apply by post, if so, use the
settlement checking service (click) to keep your original documents and generally get a faster decision.

Have you read the
set(m) form (click) and the
guide (click)? You need to supply 3 months wage slips and corresponding bank statements.
If you use the SCS then they will take copies of all documents including passports, give you them back and check your form and then send it via special delivery. You cannot send copies yourself unless certified.

I had sent ILR form SET (M) for my wife last month. I have recieved a letter from the Home Office stating that the application has become invalid because I have missed filling in section 9.3, they have also sent my photocopy of the application form. I dont understand what to do now. Do I need to fill in a new application form and pay the fees again and send it? or do I just fill in the missed section and send the photocopy they have sent? I am really confused can someone please help me I would really be grateful.

Hence why I suggested you used the settlement checking service, that wouldn't have happened. You need to complete the form again and send it off.

If your application is invalid because you have not completed a mandatory section of the application form or you have sent incorrect photos, your application fee will be retained by UKBA for 28 days. If you make a new application within 28 days from the date of UKBA’s letter then you do not need to send in another application fee. If you fail to make a new application within 28 days the fees for your invalid application will be refunded to you.
Include a cover letter with the new application and any reference number and make sure you complete it all this time.

Sorry, upon closer inspection of the application form that the Home Office have sent it is the original form. So should I just send that with the information filled in that they have requested? There is an bar code on the first page and they have highlighted the relevant section to be filled. If I do send the original should I keep the bar code on the first page or fill a new one, or as you mentioned on your previos post add that in the cover letter.
Many Thanks

Yes, send the application back with 9.3 ticked and also include a new SET(M) declaration (page 33) dated today.
