Sorry if this has been answered before.

Economically Active for ILR

For a UK Limited company contractor, does economically active for the qualifying period mean
1) Always in a contract. Any break time is subtracted from qualifying period.
2) In a contract with breaks. This often happens in contracting in the middle of two contracts! Continue to pay myself a salary, since I am sole employee of the company with title 'Director'.

Which is the HO interpretation? 1) or 2)?

I couldn't find this anywhere

thanks!

Personally I think HO will consider Option 2. That you are an employee of your own company.
Also, if absences are < 180 days, it looks like HO is not particular about reasons for absences - as I read from other posts.
